Taj Mahal: An Untold Love Story

Taj Mahal, one of the most beautiful monument and tourist attraction in Agra,Uttar Pradesh where people visit from throughout the globe. This is not just a monument but itself a evidence of pure, unconditional love that is known and remember till date.Not just the beauty of Taj that attracts the tourist but its history,the reason of its existance make people visit here again and again.On the way of seeking knowledge about Taj not every one came across the real story behind Taj. Many a times people get misleaded. So for all who are seeking for the real story behind Taj basically the Untold Love Story, here it goes...
Taj Mahal

The story headed with a Prince Khurram generally named as Shah Jahan and his love interest(Arjumand Banu Begum) Mumtaz Mahal. A story that revolves around both Shah Jahan and Mumtaz although ended back in 1631, continues to live in the name of Taj. The story started when once in 1607 Prince Khurram a.k.a Shahjahan strolling down the one of the most popular market of Mughal era ,the Meena bazaar, accompained by a string of fawning courtiers, Shahjahan caught a glimpse of a girl hawking silk and glass beads. It was basically a love at first sight and the girl was Mumtaz Mahal. At that time, he was 14 years old and she , a Muslim Persian princess, was 15. The Prince went back to his father and him to marry the girl that was Arjumand Bano a.k.a Mumtaz. After 5 years i.e.,in 1612 they got married.

In the year 1628,Shah Jahan became the emperor and entrusted Arjumand Banu with the royal seal. It was Shah Jahan who gave her the title Mumtaz Mahal with all his love as it means the "Jewel of the Palace".Though Shah Jahan had other wives as well but he was so in love with Mumtaz Mahal, probably she was his favourite. She did love him as well and accompained him everywhere, even on military campaigns.

In the year 1631, when Mumtaz Mahal was giving birth to her 14th child and she passed away while delivering him

due to some complications. That was the most heartbroken moment for Shah Jahan as he had lost his soulmate. While Mumtaz was on her deathbed, Shah Jahan promised her that we not remarry and never forget her and will built the richest mouslem over her grave and will not let people forget about there love and so did he.

It took 22 years and the labour of 22000 workers to built the monument. They put there best efforts to fulfill the command of there ruler. Shah Jahan took the task of erecting the world's mos beautiful in memory of his beloved . He died in 1666 and his body was placed next to tomb of Mumtaz Mahal, though the tombs are hidden till date.The magnificent monument, the architecture of love came to known as "Taj Mahal" and now counts among st the Seven Wonders of the World.
